Employer Stories

“I was introduced to Casa Latina through a co-worker in August of 2010 who suggested that I learn more about their organization and the great things they do for the Latino community. I took a tour of the facilities and learned about their programs. I learned about the day workers’ center, training, education and how Casa Latina empowers Latinos to become self-sustaining. I viewed a class that was being taught English and was pleased to see the level of engagement. I was able to meet the staff and board members and I was very impressed with the quality of the people and the facilities.

One month later, I found myself in need of assistance. I had moved and had two 8’ X 16’ storage PODS that needed to be unloaded. One of the PODS was filled with heavy equipment– table saw, band saw, jointer, etc—all extremely heavy cast iron tools. I thought back to Casa Latina and quickly picked up the phone and scheduled two workers. I met José Martinez and Justo Calderon at Casa Latina and they were focused and ready to work. They had back support braces, gloves and a positive, can do attitude. They immediately went to work and unloaded the furniture and tools without a scratch and ahead of schedule. I really enjoyed their company and was extremely satisfied with the results. I could not be more pleased with José‚ and Justo. I strongly recommend Casa Latina and the services they offer.”
